Islamiyah Charity Work

Charity Work

The School supports a number of local and national charities throughout the school year. Islamiyah have formed many links, including Lancashire Hospice, Derian House Old People’s Home etc.  Girls undertake various activities including selling cakes and food and organising non-uniform days, in order to raise funds for worthwhile causes.

This session is also used for raising funds for a variety of charities such as Macmillan Cancer Research, Ummah Welfare, One Nation, Al-Imdaad, NSPCC and many more.

“Pupils learn very well about the importance of integrating successfully into the school and wider community.  They become very mature and can hardly wait to take their place as young citizens in modern Britain. They already make a significant contribution to the local community on which they live.”

Peace Charter

Pupils from Year 10 formed a working party with pupils from other schools within the Borough to create a charter which covers equality, diversity, safety and support for young. The Peace Charter was presented to the Department for Education and will be used by Blackburn with Darwen council in supporting young people and their needs.
