Parental Involvement & Communication
Parental involvement / communication
We have a regular subject based assessments, homework and class work activities. We ask parents to monitor homework by looking at the planner on a weekly basis and discussing any issues with your child or us as necessary.
At IGHS, we place considerable value on our ‘triangle of care’ recognising that close co-operation and good communication with parents proves beneficial to pupils’ progress.
IGHS gives all of our pupils the best teaching and learning opportunities. We have excellent classes in a warm, friendly and professional environment. Our staff always gives the best care and guidance.
Parent Teacher Association
We are fortunate at Islamiyah that we have a committed number of parents who actively help promote and support the school. Our PTA have helped with a number of fundraising activities and also come in to school to assist with enrichment activities.
Attendance
The school works extremely hard with parents to ensure pupils attendance is above the national average. Pupils with 100% attendance are rewarded for their efforts termly; this has proven to be successful.
House System
Islamiyah School recognises good effort, behaviour and outstanding work. Students, who show these, are awarded with merits. Islamiyah believes in highlighting every achievement. As each pupil is allocated a house, their individual merits are collated and the top achieving house is awarded.
This reward strategy has proven to work well in motivating pupils to perform well both in behaviour and academia.

“I believe home is where you live with your family, and school: Islamiyah, is where you’re treated as family.”
– Mrs Mariyam Pathan, School PTA
